Plasters

A house plastering project however challenging, can be a fun filled activity for you and your family members or roommates. The process that goes into a home decorating and remodeling project is long, and should be well thought out before embarking on it.

Plaster can be described as a building material used to coat walls and ceilings, it starts out as dry powder that is similar to mortar or cement, the powder is then mixed with water to form a thick paste which releases heat and hardens, the only difference is plaster remains softer after application unlike cement and mortar. Plaster has a wide spread use in the construction industry and also in interior design, as it can be used to create art on walls and ceilings.

Plaster can be used to facelift the image of a room after disasters, i.e. fire and floods to restore your house to its former glory. There so many use that plaster can be put to use in any one household. Remodeling reconstruction and decoration are the major reason for plastering projects in most homes.
Most old house buildings have been built using bricks and covered with plaster. If the house experiences damage caused by fire of flooding, it is important to remove the plaster. Usually you will be more likely compelled to remove the plaster from 1 meter above the ground, to do so you can use a chisel and hammer to do this, however this method is tiresome and slow. Or you could use a kango electric tool which is relatively faster than the latter to fasten up you plastering project. The tool can be expensive but hiring them is a cheaper alternative.

The kango electric tool essentially a vibrating chisel that is so powerful it can smash through solid concrete easily. Caution is advised especially if you decide to use the kango electric tool to remove cast plaster you need to be careful especially when you need to use decide to use a chisel for certain areas in the room, for example near electric switches and sockets, gas conduits, and other plumbing that may be embedded on the concerned wall as this tool may puncture and the damage would be disastrous as it could lead to serious injury or further property damage in case of gas leaks.

During reconstruction or remodeling, when removing the old plaster from the wall, you have to make sure that you do so till you see the blocks or bricks, you have to also to smoothen for the best result while applying fresh plaster again. One good method you can use to ensure even smoothing using the kango tool, use a Stanley knife to mark a rough line along the level you intend to reach, then point the kango electric tool downwards aiming for the bottom, then moving to the side and pressing further down to help remove as much plaster as possible. After removing the plaster you can smoothen the bricks further using a hammer and chisel to ensure that the un-plastered wall is evenly smoothed out.
Once you are done smoothing, the walls should be ready for the new plaster to be applied as you wish. Plaster dries faster thus it take little time after remodeling for the room to be fully ready.
